Our School
Nuriootpa High School is a public high school of over 900
students (years 8 to 12) located in Nuriootpa, a township within the Barossa
Valley region in the state of South Australia. The Barossa Valley is one of
Australia's most significant wine regions.
Information about the
Barossa Valley can be found at the
South Australian Tourist
Commission web site. The Department of Further
Education, Employment, Science and Technology produce
Regional Profiles that provide data and information including demographic,
labour market and education and training characteristics of 17 regions across
South Australia, of which one is Barossa Light. You can read the
Barossa Light
Regional Profile here (.pdf). A searchable online map of Australia can be found at
aus-emaps.
The school services the broad Barossa Valley region from towns such as Dutton
and Truro in the north, Moculta, Keyneton and Eden Valley in the east, Rosedale
and Greenock in the west, Nuriootpa, Angaston and Tanunda in the centre and
Lyndoch and Cockatoo Valley in the south.
The school has a long history of successful achievement in all areas of learning
and in a range of extra curricular activities including sports, music, drama and
agriculture. A strength of the school is the breadth and depth of its curriculum
and the availability of a wide range of extra curricular activities that cater
for the interests and needs of students.
