BYOD

The Federal Government’s 1-2-1 Laptop Program has ended. The school has reviewed all options extensively and has determined that our only reasonable course is to introduce a BYOD policy. BYOD means Bring Your Own Device and many schools across the world have been using this strategy for several years to meet the requirements of 21st Century learning.

The school has opted for a system called VMware Horizon View, a professional desktop program that offers the same set of applications to all ICT users in the school. In this way, whether students have laptops or tablets, they will have access to the same programs on their device. These programs include software such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and other miscellaneous applications, in line with the requirements of the Australian Curriculum and the SACE Board.

Please find our BYOD/VDI Acceptable Use Policy document on our School Policies page here.
